According to "Ceramic Information", there are currently 15 ceramic factories in Puqiao Building Materials Industrial Park, Shahu Town, Enping City, Guangdong Province (hereinafter referred to as "Enping Shahu Industrial Park"). In addition to the discontinued Enping Fengze Ceramics Co., Ltd. and Enping Zhengde Ceramics Co., Ltd., other ceramic factories have been affected to varying degrees.
The person in charge of the above-mentioned ceramic factory further revealed, "Currently, only some of the production lines in our factory have normal gas supply, and others are in a heat preservation state."
Previously, the deadline given by Enping City for "coal-to-gas" conversion was before the end of September 2020, and the gas company had already supplied gas to the park in late September. On October 2, relevant departments of Enping City conducted inspection and enforcement of Shahu Ceramics Park. According to reports, two ceramic factories in the industrial park at that time were required to stop production for rectification on the same day because they had not completed the "coal-to-gas" conversion. Now, one of the ceramic factories has completed relevant transformation and resumed production using natural gas. But within a few days of resuming production, we were faced with the dilemma of running out of energy.
It is understood that the main reason for the "gas shortage" is that the Shahu Ceramics Park uses LNG gas stations to supply gas, that is, LNG is transported to the gas station, and is gasified and transported to the ceramic factory by the gas company. However, due to the demand for gas If it is too large, the gasification capacity of the existing pipeline is insufficient.
In this regard, the local gas station stated that it will speed up the expansion of gas pipelines. Some people in the industry believe that the pipeline expansion period will take at least one to two months, and the problem of "insufficient gasification capacity" will not be completely solved in the short term.
In order to ensure the smooth start of production work, other local methods have been adopted. However, some ceramic factory managers said they would not reopen gas stations and would instead seek other ways to solve the problem.
Compared with other production areas in Guangdong, the gas cost of Enping Shahu Industrial Park is not high. According to reports, the current price of gas used by the ceramic factory in the park is 2.2 yuan/m³. Compared with burning coal, the increase in production fuel cost per square meter is not particularly large.
Since the use of natural gas has just begun, there are no relevant plans for such emergencies. At this stage, the park’s “gasification capacity is insufficient”The local ceramics factory has been caught off guard. However, some relevant sources revealed that two local ceramic factories have been approved to build their own "LNG stations".
